LENS Lab - SmolVLA Autonomy with Robotic Arms

January 2026 - Present
  • Trained and evaluated robot-learning models on pick-and-place tasks using SO-101 robotic arms.
  • Built a LeRobot Visualizer/GUI Wrapper to reduce repetitive command generation and inspect datasets, videos, models, and experiment runs.
  • Trained models on an NVIDIA A100 cluster using SmolVLA, ACT, GR00T, and PI0.5 workflows.
  • Developed environments and training conditions to improve robotic-arm performance.
  • Used action chunking, leader/follower data collection, and deployment workflows for embodied policy evaluation.

Dr. Huang O2 Labs - Cybersecurity AIxCC DARPA Challenge

  • Researched and designed systems capable of autonomously finding vulnerabilities and generating patches.
  • Placed 4th as a finalist team, finding 28 real-world vulnerabilities and patching 14.
  • Presented work at DEF CON 33 and published a technical report to arXiv.
