Research Experience

LENS Lab - SmolVLA Autonomy with Robotic Arms

January 2026 - Present
  • Built a MuJoCo simulation study on joint-space and controller-mediated end-effector action representations.
  • Ran and independently validated 3,600 behavioral-cloning evaluation rollouts.
  • Built an open-source LeRobot pipeline manager for diagnostics, experiment queues, and run tracking.
  • Trained and deployed SmolVLA, ACT, GR00T, and π0.5 on SO-101 hardware.
  • Collected 250+ teleoperation episodes and tested robustness to camera, lighting, background, and placement shifts.
  • Achieved 80% in-distribution and 70% held-out pick-and-place success.

Dr. Huang O2 Labs - Cybersecurity AIxCC DARPA Challenge

August 2024 - February 2026
  • Placed 4th in DARPA's AI Cyber Challenge; helped identify 28 vulnerabilities and generate 14 validated patches.
  • Built and evaluated LLM-agent workflows using RAG, few-shot prompting, and custom cost/latency benchmarks.
  • Presented at DEF CON 33, co-authored an arXiv report, and supported research across 20+ open-source projects.
  • Built evaluation frameworks for vulnerability discovery and patch generation.

  • Built an automation-governance platform using Power Automate, SharePoint, and Dataverse.
  • Led a production migration of 54 automations and AI workflows with zero-downtime constraints.
